#1 Thing to Do in the Morning
(besides use the bathroom)

Ever hear that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? That statement is completely not true but it is not a lie either. Confused? Read on.

What is your morning routine? Is it something like this?

1) Turn off the alarm
2) Use the toilet.
3) Shower / brush your teeth / do your hair / do your makeup.
4) Eat breakfast
5) Get dressed
6) Go to work.

Perhaps that is not your routine, but for most, it comes close. The routine has a glaring flaw in it, a flaw that completely throws our body off center every morning.

What is it?

We ate breakfast. You read correctly. You ate breakfast. If you have read the article on water you know that the body burns water all day and all night. You know that the body’s need for water is greatest in the morning. Since we have been dehydrating all night and every organ of or body is parched, including our digestive (tract which is trying to catch up from the night before), we need water.

A ban on breakfast flies in the face of the old statement that “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!” So it does. Because, today, we live in a different age. We do not live on 100 or 1000 acre ranches. We do not have to get up before dawn, eat a huge breakfast, ride old Ben (the horse) for 45 minutes to the north 140, where you had to mend the fence and tend to the herd. Come noon, take a break and eat whatever you brought on your horse (because you couldn’t lose 90 minutes riding time to go back to the house).

Therefore, if you didn’t eat a huge breakfast, you were “plum outta’ luck..” There you sat, hungrier than a high school football player after wining the state championship.

For you, no cheerleaders, team members or waiter. You’ve got your horse and beef jerky in the saddlebag. No seconds for you. Not until supper that night. Your next meal is 5 hours or more away, if your lucky! Life was tough for a rancher 150 years ago. For the rancher on a horse, breakfast was the most important meal of the day. Do you ride a horse? Can you get food anytime you please?

Today the trick is to give your body what it needs in the AM. That thing is, water. Every morning your body wants it, so, drink, drink and drink. Your body will not run without it.

Some people will not eat solid food until the have their first elimination of the day. Not a bad idea.

Whether you take a train, ride a horse, take a bus, catch the trolley, call a cab or power walk to work, drink your water when you get up and don’t stop until your body thirst is quenched.
